Abdullahi Ganduje, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex-governor of Kano State, has expressed skepticism about the viability of the presidential ticket featuring Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2027 general election. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Ganduje stated that the ticket lacks the political influence and leadership experience essential for garnering support in Kano.
“I don’t think Peter Obi and Kwankwaso’s ticket will succeed in Kano. It will not succeed. In fact, it is dead on arrival,” he asserted. Ganduje critiqued Obi’s tenure as the governor of Anambra State, questioning his accomplishments and the legacy he left behind.
Furthermore, Ganduje emphasized that Obi has not demonstrated sufficient governance experience to lead Nigeria. He also pointed out that Kwankwaso, despite being a former governor of Kano, failed to secure two consecutive terms in office, contrasting his record with that of Ibrahim Shekarau and himself.
In summary, Ganduje reiterated that both candidates have not established a legacy that would inspire confidence among the people of Kano or across Nigeria, reiterating once more that the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket is essentially nonviable.
