Etafia named goalkeeper coach for Young Africans.

Greg Etafia has been appointed as the goalkeeper coach for Young Africans, a prominent Tanzanian football club, according to reports from DAILY POST. He will be joining the club’s new coaching staff under head coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

Etafia, a former goalkeeper for Lobi Stars, began his coaching career in 2015 with South Africa’s Moroka Swallows, where he later served as caretaker manager in March 2016. In September 2016, he transitioned to Cape Town All Stars, taking on a goalkeeping coaching role and also stepping in as caretaker coach. Under his leadership, All Stars improved significantly, climbing from the bottom of the league to 14th place and reaching the last 32 of the Nedbank Cup.

In addition to his time at All Stars, Etafia has also worked as a goalkeeper coach for Baroka FC and TS Galaxy. His playing career included stints in the Nigeria Premier Football League with Lobi Stars and Plateau United before he joined Moroka Swallows in 2003, where he remained until 2015, followed by a brief period at Highlands FC. He also represented Nigeria’s U-23 team during the 2000 Summer Olympics.

This new role marks an exciting chapter for Etafia as he joins Young Africans to enhance their goalkeeping department.
