African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has alleged that Nigerian music star David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, was prevented from meeting President Bola Tinubu during a visit to Abuja. In an interview with News Central TV, Sowore claimed that Davido traveled to Abuja with the intention of meeting Tinubu and apologizing for his actions and public comments during the Osun State governorship election.
However, according to Sowore, the singer was allegedly not granted access to the President and was instead directed to meet with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.Sowore further alleged that Davido prostrated before Wike during the meeting.
He said the development reflected a prediction he had previously made: that Davido, despite publicly criticizing the government, would eventually engage with members of the administration.“Initially, people were like, ‘Oh, Davido is criticizing them.’ I said Davido is going to end up with them. And who did we see? Davido went to Abuja,” Sowore said.
Sowore added that he had heard Davido intended to visit Tinubu to apologize for what he described as the singer’s “shenanigans” during the Osun governorship election. He maintained that Davido was not permitted to meet the President and was instead referred to Wike. These claims were presented by Sowore during the interview.
