Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has responded to the reported lawsuit filed against her by Judy Austin, making it clear that she is not troubled by the legal dispute. Rather than viewing the case as a source of anxiety, Edochie considers it an opportunity to address matters she has intentionally kept private and away from public discussion.Edochie said she is ready to make additional revelations in court, maintaining that the legal process would provide a proper setting for the facts to be examined.
She rejected suggestions that the lawsuit had caused her sleepless nights, explaining that she had previously chosen not to speak about certain issues even when she had opportunities to do so publicly.According to the actress, the reported court action has now created an opening for her to discuss matters she had deliberately withheld from the public. She suggested that the proceedings could allow her to present her perspective and clarify issues that have remained unaddressed.“This lawsuit dey give Rita Edochie sleepless night.
Mee? As how nah? Nwa nne, na better opportunity wey I dey find to dey talk wetin I never talk dem give me so I don grab wella.”Despite her comments about the lawsuit, Edochie said her immediate priority was celebrating May Edochie’s birthday. She described the birthday observance as more important for the moment, ahead of the reported court proceedings and any further developments in the legal matter.“The 29th is the code, but before then, everyone should prepare to celebrate my beloved daughter, Queen May Yul Edochie, because her birthday comes first and is far more important.
”Edochie explained that she had been closely watching events unfold while intentionally choosing not to comment publicly on several issues. She said she had been observing developments and keeping many of her thoughts to herself. Although she believed there were numerous matters she could have addressed earlier, she deliberately remained silent because she did not want to compel certain private conversations into the public domain.
However, she said the legal action had altered the circumstances by creating a formal opportunity for her to defend the statements she had previously made and allow the relevant facts to be examined.“But now that a lawsuit has entered the matter, let the facts be brought forward.
If everything I have said is untrue, then let the law hold me accountable.”Edochie also questioned how a defamation case could be sustained if her statements were truthful, arguing that the court should determine whether she had made false claims.“Where is the defamation if I have not spoken falsely? Let the court establish that. But if what I have been saying is true, why should I be afraid to say even more? More is coming.
”She added that she welcomed the lawsuit because it would provide her with a formal platform to present what she claimed to know before the appropriate authorities and have the matter considered through the legal process.“In fact, I have much more to say, and that is why I thank God for this lawsuit every single day.”
You have essentially handed me the microphone I have been waiting for, giving me the platform to say what I have wanted to say.”She ended with a clear warning that she planned to make full use of the opportunity, declaring, “I go use am open fowl nyash! I go use am well, I swear.”Edochie emphasized that any revelations she shares will be limited to information she personally knows and believes she can substantiate and defend before the law.
“Not with rumors, not with fabricated stories, and not with whispers from unknown sources. I will speak only about what I know, what I have previously said, what I can stand by, and what I believe can be defended before the appropriate authorities.”
