Hon. Adekunle Oladeji, the former Chairman of the Aare Latosa Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Oyo State, has officially left the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). His defection, confirmed on Saturday, paves the way for his involvement in the upcoming 2027 elections.
Oladeji served as chairman of the LCDA during the administration of the previous governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi. The LCDA is part of the Ibadan North Local Government Area. Notably, he comes from a politically influential family; his father, Alhaji B.A.O. Oladeji, previously held the position of Oyo South Senatorial District Chairman for the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), a party that later merged with others to form the APC.
Despite his father’s ongoing influence within the APC, the younger Oladeji has expressed his support for APM’s governorship candidate, Mr. Bimbo Adekanmbi, as well as for Governor Seyi Makinde, the party’s presidential candidate. In a brief confirmation to DAILY POST, Oladeji stated, “Yes. It is confirmed,” affirming his transition to the APM as he gears up for the next electoral cycle.
