Godswill Akpabio, President of the Senate

Citing the needs of the president’s office, Senate President Godswill Akpabio has revealed why he represented President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of projects carried out by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Akpabio gave a speech on Thursday at the Opebi-Ojota Link Bridge and e-GIS complex commissioning in Lagos, where the president was conspicuously absent.
In response to comments made by Tajudeen Olusi, the chairman of the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC), who expressed a want to see Tinubu at the function, Akpabio stated that the president’s obligations make it challenging for him to attend every occasion.
“You stated that you would have loved to see your son, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but you also stated that it was projected that he would become Nigeria’s president someday,” Akpabio remarked.
You therefore agreed to sell him to Nigeria and the world community if you were aware that he would become president of Nigeria. This implies that due to the demands of his office, he could not always be available when you wish to meet him,” he continued.
Akpabio used his personal connections to Lagos and knowledge of the state’s progress to further defend his position as the president’s envoy.
Given that the Senate President is a Lagosian, you might be wondering why he travelled to Lagos to represent the president. For the past thirty years, I have lived directly behind Bourdillon. “I know Opebi, I know Allen, and I worked at Ajose-Adeogun,” he remarked.
He continued by saying that he was in a good position to attest to Lagos’ development and explain to a national audience the importance of the projects.
Who is best suited to represent the president when such democratic dividends are presented? It’s the President of the Senate. The message is now being heard across the nation, according to Akpabio.
Top politicians from Lagos, including Prince Tajudeen Olusi, the chair of the GAC, Mudashiru Obasa, the speaker of the State Assembly, Senator Wasiu Eshinlokun, and Abike Dabiri-Erewa, the chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, attended the event.
