After leaving Chelsea at the beginning of 2026, Enzo Maresca has not yet returned to the dugout, but according to Metro Sport, he may have been asked to lead a European team.
Maresca was replaced by Liam Rosenior, whose promising start at Stamford Bridge has been overshadowed by growing fan frustration over recent results.
Enzo Fernandez recently admitted he was puzzled by Maresca’s dismissal, noting the Italian enjoyed a successful spell during his brief tenure in charge.
According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Serie A side Fiorentina have contacted Maresca about potentially taking over the club.
Fiorentina are currently 16th in the Italian league but remain in contention for silverware through the Conference League.
Maresca brings recent experience in European competitions, having won the Conference League with Chelsea last season as part of the club’s sweep of European trophies.
Maresca has been spotted at several games since leaving Chelsea, and speculation continues that he will only return to management if a high-profile opportunity arises.
He has been tipped as a potential candidate to succeed Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, a club with which he previously engaged while working at Chelsea.
His prior success with City’s academy would likely bolster confidence in his ability to transition to first-team responsibilities.
Juventus is another club linked with Maresca, although reports suggest a move to Fiorentina may be unlikely.
