Tenebe: Obi was unsuccessful in Anambra, so I don’t see him winning this election.

Speaking in an interview with TVC News Nigeria, Jareth Tenebe, the Edo State APC Chairman, expressed doubt that Peter Obi, the NDC presidential candidate, would succeed in the forthcoming election.

Tenebe based his assessment largely on Obi’s record as governor of Anambra State, arguing that his administration did not demonstrate the level of performance or achievement he would expect from someone seeking the presidency.

Tenebe also questioned the prospects of Atiku, the ADC presidential candidate. He described Atiku as similar to Obi in terms of political record and governing approach, and suggested that Atiku’s strong ambition to become president could lead him to make a wide range of statements.

In support of his position, Tenebe referred to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s previous remarks about Atiku, emphasizing that Obasanjo had worked closely with him when Atiku served as vice president and was therefore familiar with his political history. In Tenebe’s words:

“Peter Obi was not a successful governor. He was not successful in Anambra. He didn’t do well in Anambra.

Security was zero. Everything that he had to do was zero. So I don’t see him making it in this election. Atiku also is the same thing, double standard. He can say anything because he’s desperate to become president.

And the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo, has said it all. Anytime he contests an election, he knows him. He was his vice president. So there’s nothing to write home about him.”Start Watching The Video Quote Stamp From 0:42 to 1:15
