Hamzat Habeeb Adelaja, widely recognized by his online moniker Peller, a prominent Nigerian TikTok personality and content creator, has recently articulated his profound dissatisfaction concerning the extent of his parents’ involvement in his recent wedding ceremony. The situation, as described by Peller, was exacerbated by the presence of his separated parents, each accompanied by their new partners, at the nuptials.
During a livestream session, the newly married internet sensation candidly shared his frustrations, stemming from what he perceives as the inherent complexities and challenges associated with growing up within a polygamous family structure. He revealed that despite his explicit request for a more intimate gathering, his parents, against his wishes, extended invitations to a significantly larger number of guests. This influx of attendees, Peller elaborated, included his father arriving with his girlfriend and his mother attending with her boyfriend, a situation that evidently caused him considerable distress. He emphasized his strong disapproval of polygamy, stating, “A polygamous family is a very bad thing. My father and mother invited so many people. After I warned them not to invite many people, can you imagine? My father came with his girlfriend, while my mother came with her boyfriend.
” Beyond the wedding day itself, Peller also voiced his exasperation regarding the increasing ubiquity of social media within his family circle. He lamented that not only his parents but also his siblings have become excessively active online, a trend that has left him feeling “angry and frustrated.” He expressed his weariness with this pervasive digital presence, exclaiming, “All my family have turned to social media: Papa o, Mama o, my brothers o, everybody. I dey vex for all of them, and I changed it for them. I’m tired!” Furthermore, the TikTok star addressed recent speculative rumors concerning his father’s sexuality, which were ignited by a photograph of the elder man lying on a bed with another man that circulated online.
Peller clarified that the image was captured during a content creation session for social media. However, he also acknowledged that his father’s lack of discretion in sharing such content online contributed to the ensuing speculation. He stated, “I blame my daddy for putting himself on social media. My dad was on the bed making videos, and you people started calling him g@y.” These candid remarks from Peller have predictably generated a significant wave of reactions across social media platforms, with users actively engaging with his commentary on his family dynamics, his parents’ personal relationships, and the controversy surrounding his father’s online activities.
