Madi QingNigerian singer Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, better known by her stage name Qing Madi, has said that the music business is just as profitable as the “drug” sector.

In a recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, Madi stated that a single performance can earn an artist what the typical Nigerian worker makes in a year or years.

The 19-year-old claimed that music has given her financial independence, but she doesn’t show off her fortune online because she doesn’t want it to define who she is.”Music money is like drug money; it’s not normal. I doubt that many are aware of how… Additionally, I don’t think I would purchase something to display in the media since I believe that would alter the way the media portrays me. Additionally, I dislike it when people stare at me and see money. However, I am wealthy.

The typical Nigerian works from 9 to 5 and makes about N500,000 at the end of the month, whereas an artist can earn N20 million for a single performance. “Music is very profitable,” she remarked.

Given that many Nigerians rely on music for both therapy and escape, Madi stated that she thinks the country’s lack of access to therapy may be the reason why Nigerians adore music.
