Maiduguri is rocked by multiple bomb explosions, with 23 people killed. The capital of Borno State, Maiduguri, was rocked by a series of loud explosions on Monday night, frightening locals.
The explosions happened between 6:45 and 8:00 PM local time, just after many people had broken their Ramadan fast.
Twenty-three persons have died. An official statement from the Borno State Police Command noted this. Additionally, 108 people have been taken to hospitals with various injuries.
According to ASP Nahum Daso, the Police Public Relations Officer, the incidents featured improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and occurred at approximately 7:24 PM.
Although police statements have mostly concentrated on three key scenes, security sources claim that the explosions were coordinated, affecting at least four locations.

Emergency personnel needed to evacuate the injured. Teams from the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) moved in for the operation.
UMTH, the State Specialist Hospital, and Umaru Shehu Ultra-Modern Hospital are actively treating the victims. No organization has formally taken credit for the bombs as of the time of this publication.
Nonetheless, the attack strategy and the targets selected adhere to the recognized patterns of either the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) or Boko Haram.
Both organizations have a lengthy history of attacking busy public areas in the area, particularly around important occasions like the month of Ramadan. In contrast to the insurgency’s height in the mid-2010s, Maiduguri had seen less bloodshed in recent years. The attack ends this era of relative tranquility.
