I met my husband over the Christmas season in Egba when I was seventeen years old, but we never shared a home—Abiodun

Bamidele Abiodun, the first lady of Ogun State, claims that she met her husband, Governor Dapo Abiodun, during a Christmas celebration in their hometown of Egba when she was a teenager.

She clarified that even though she and her family never resided in the same area as him, they always returned home for the holidays, and it was at one of those joyous get-togethers in Egba that their paths initially crossed.

Even though they never lived in the same city as their permanent residence, Abiodun claimed that meeting him at that party, when she was around 17 years old, marked the start of a relationship that would eventually result in marriage.

According to her, those times when families brought their kids home for Christmas produced enduring relationships and memories that continue to have an impact on their lives decades later.

“I met my husband, I guess I must have been 17 or so,” stated Bamidele Abiodun, First Lady of Ogun State. In Egba, I got to know him. Both he and I are from Egba. We used to always have a great time when they took you home for Christmas. It was at one of those parties that I met him. We never ever shared a residence.
