Buba Galadima, a leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has compared the defeat of former President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 elections to the current government of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Naija News says that Galadima said on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday that if Jonathan can be removed because of insecurity in the Northeast, Nigerians could react strongly at the polls if the country’s current economic and security problems don’t get better. The head of the NNPP said that the 2015 election showed that Nigerians were willing to vote out a government that was making them feel unsafe.Galadima talked about political dissent and governance, saying that officials should not ignore what the public thinks, pointing to cases where people were arrested for speaking out.He said, “Look at the young men in Kano who go to the radio to say what they think.
They were caught and sent to jail. Judges sometimes try them at night and have to put them in jail.”This, now things start small, small.” You don’t know how they can grow and change into something else. They shouldn’t play. They shouldn’t think that Nigerians are easy to fool and won’t do anything.”They should remember, and they know better, that when things got to less than 10% of the situation we are in now, Nigerians stepped up and got rid of that government.”If you can get rid of Jonathan’s government because of a small problem in the Northeast, what would you do to the APC government?” I think we need to break them up.Galadima criticized the APC government’s policies and dismissed claims that living conditions have gotten better, saying that farming in rural areas is getting worse.Galadima also said that the government was hurting farming by making it harder to buy things and raising the cost of production, especially fertilizer. He said, “This government has killed agriculture on purpose, taking away the rights of farmers, who make up 75% of the Nigerian population… You need to spend between 60,000 and 70,000 naira on a bag of fertilizer.”How can you take away the rights of 75% of your people for the sake of one contractor or one supporter?” The huge amount of grains coming in… This year I went to Maiduguri… No one is doing any dry farming.”Let the government send researchers to find out now…” If there is no famine, all of the rice mills that were built during Buhari’s time will die.Buba Galadima says, “We have to cut the APC government into pieces” after Jonathan’s removal.By Rachel Okporu FadojuPlease tell this story:Buba Galadima, a leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has compared the All Progressives Congress (APC) government to the defeat of former President Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 elections.According to Naija News, Galadima said on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday that if Jonathan can be removed because of insecurity in the Northeast, Nigerians could react strongly at the ballot box if the country’s current economic and security problems don’t get better. The head of the NNPP said that the 2015 election showed that Nigerians were willing to vote out a government that was making them feel unsafe.
