Bryan Mbeumo has emphasised how Bruno Fernandes and a number of other Manchester United teammates were crucial in assisting him in adjusting to Old Trafford. The Cameroonian international has relied on their advice to swiftly adjust to his new environment since leaving Brentford.

Fernandes, who excels in an advanced attacking role under Michael Carrick, had a close relationship with the 26-year-old winger. Fernandes’ placement has made it possible for him to connect with Mbeumo in an efficient manner, assisting the forward’s assimilation into the starting lineup and offering guidance both on and off the field.
Mbeumo acknowledged that Fernandes regularly communicated with him, providing guidance and support, particularly during trying times. Mbeumo’s transition has gone more smoothly thanks to the Red Devils captain’s support as he navigates the demands of a new club environment.
In addition to Fernandes, Mbeumo acknowledged Joshua Zirkzee and other players for their assistance. His teammates’ support during trying times strengthened a sense of unity, making him feel accepted and boosting his confidence in his performances at Manchester United.
Mbeumo’s debut season has been successful despite a recent decline in form, with 0 goals in six Premier League games. In just 27 games, he has already provided ten goals and three assists, demonstrating promise in his rookie season while still getting used to the demands of the Premier League.
Other players also helped to break down barriers related to language and culture. The linguistically similar Amad Diallo and Leny Yoro, as well as the French-speaking Matheus Cunha, were instrumental in Mbeumo’s social and professional adjustment to Old Trafford.
After Brentford granted his third transfer request, Mbeumo joined Manchester United in the summer of 2025. He was the Red Devils’ second significant summer acquisition after Cunha, and the club’s original £65 million payment reinforced their commitment to bolstering the team.
