🎬🎶 Dive into the Artistic Journey of Bose Olubo 🎤✨
In a captivating interview aired on Oyinmomo TV on the bright morning of Tuesday, June 2, 2026, the multi-talented Bose Olubo—renowned actress, gifted musician, skilled writer, and the wife of the illustrious Juju music legend, King Sunny Ade—shared her remarkable journey into the world of film and music. With a warm smile and an engaging narrative, she recounted the pivotal moments that carved her path in the entertainment industry.
Olubo, whose talent speaks volumes, revealed that her unique ability to create soundtracks was initially sparked by simple film synopses. In her words, “All it takes is a brief summary of the movie for me to develop an entire song.” It was Alade Aromire, a trailblazing figure in theater, who first recognized her gift, encouraging her with the words: “You are talented.” This marked the beginning of her illustrious career.

From there, her trajectory soared. She collaborated closely with Aromire in various roles—taking on the responsibilities of a personal assistant, and contributing to writing, producing soundtracks, crafting advertisements, and even managing camera operations. Her dedication was unwavering, and she shared, “I started my theater journey at Kings Studios, where I not only sang but developed soundtracks for films.” Soon, she became a sought-after resource in the industry.
Olubo fondly reminisced about her early days, recalling, “I met Alade Aromire and Jide Kosoko at our studio during the production of a soundtrack for a movie titled ‘Obirin Asiko.’ From our very first encounter, Aromire recognized my potential, inviting me into his studio for numerous collaborations.” With a humble yet determined spirit, she acknowledged that although she had not originally set out to become an actress, her passion for the arts soon led her to take on various roles in film and production. For about three to four years, she faithfully served as Aromire’s right hand, fully immersing herself in scriptwriting, songwriting, advertising, and camera work. “Today,” she proudly declared, “there’s virtually no camera I can’t handle!”
Bose also opened up about her deep-rooted friendships in the industry, particularly with the celebrated gospel artist Tope Alabi. “Tope is my sister; we share a bond that predates our theatre days,” she remarked, highlighting their collaborative efforts in producing soundtracks. She also expressed her admiration for contemporary artists such as Omawumi and Yemi Alade, whose music gives her “goosebumps.” The similarities in their styles serve as a source of inspiration, but she emphasizes that her musical packaging remains distinct, shaped by her unique background and experiences.
As she reflected on her journey into acting, she fondly mentioned her early colleagues, including Bimpe Adekola, Nike Peller, Bisola Yoyo, and Salome Eketunde, noting how they all contributed to the vibrant tapestry of the theatre community. “My style of music,” she explains, “is what I call ‘Funky Folklore.’ During my early days, I had my own band, and my compositions were influenced heavily by my surroundings and experiences.”
Bose Olubo’s narrative is a testament to the power of mentorship, passion, and resilience in the arts. Her journey continues to inspire aspiring artists everywhere, encouraging them to embrace their talents and pursue their dreams fearlessly.
