Throwback videos featuring social media influencer and luxury-goods dealer Afolabi Kazeem Michael, widely known as KC Luxury, have resurfaced online after the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency announced his arrest. The clips, which began circulating widely on social media following Tuesday’s announcement, highlight the lavish lifestyle he regularly presented to his audience, including collections of exotic cars, high-end watches, designer items, and other expensive possessions. In one video, KC Luxury discussed two Mercedes-Maybach vehicles associated with the late fashion and product designer Virgil Abloh. He emphasized the rarity of the cars, saying, “I don’t think anybody has serial number 001 Maybach Virgil Ablohs. That aside, I don’t think anybody has two Virgil Ablohs of the 150.”
His comments appeared to focus on the limited production and exclusivity of the vehicles.Another resurfaced clip showed him standing above a fleet of exotic cars while reflecting on the emotional appeal of luxury and the status associated with expensive possessions. “When you look at the car you drive from upstairs, are you proud? Are you excited? Does it give you joy?” he asked, suggesting that luxury purchases should provide more than financial value or social recognition. In a separate video, the social media personality spoke about the people in his circle and expressed frustration over what he described as a lack of practical support.
Although he said many people offered him advice, he claimed that few were willing to provide meaningful assistance when it was needed. “99% advisors, zero helper. Everybody’s an advisor, but when it’s time to help, zero helper. Everybody take off,” he said.Additional footage from his Snapchat account, @kayceeluxury, showed him displaying costly wristwatches, jewelry, and other luxury items. One of the clips also featured him alongside Nigerian music star Wizkid, further drawing attention to the high-profile social and entertainment circles associated with his public image. The renewed circulation of the videos comes amid the NDLEA’s allegation that KC Luxury was connected to an international cocaine-trafficking cartel.
According to the agency, he was arrested on August 13, 2026, at the boarding gate of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The NDLEA said intelligence indicated that he intended to travel to Paris on a business-class flight. The agency alleged that KC Luxury served as the Nigerian arrowhead of a cartel involved in transporting cocaine from South America through Nigeria to the United Kingdom, other European countries, and parts of Asia. The investigation reportedly followed the interception of 184.50 kilograms of cocaine concealed for export through a courier-logistics channel in Lagos.
The NDLEA described the seizure as the largest quantity of cocaine ever intercepted through a courier company in Nigeria.Following his arrest, agency officials said they searched his luxury apartment on Banana Island in Ikoyi, Lagos, and recovered several exotic vehicles. The NDLEA also reported that he was found at the airport carrying €7,750, £2,800, and N100,000 in cash, as well as expensive jewelry. As a result, the resurfaced videos have attracted fresh public interest, with many viewers revisiting the extravagant lifestyle KC Luxury consistently showcased online before his arrest. The footage has also prompted renewed discussion about the contrast between his highly publicized displays of wealth and the serious allegations now under investigation.
