Romano reports on Osimhen to Arsenal after Alvarez deal collapses.

Fabrizio Romano has addressed the growing speculation linking Victor Osimhen with Arsenal following the club’s unsuccessful pursuit of Julian Alvarez.Arsenal began the summer transfer window determined to strengthen their attack by bringing in a high-quality striker capable of taking the team to another level.Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid had emerged as Arsenal’s preferred target.

With a potential move to Barcelona reportedly ruled out, there was growing optimism that the Argentine forward could eventually make the switch to north London. However, that optimism has now taken a major hit.

Reliable journalist David Ornstein revealed that Alvarez has personally told Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta that he does not currently want to join the club.According to Ornstein, even if Arsenal manage to reach an agreement with Atletico Madrid over a transfer fee, the deal would not go ahead unless Alvarez changes his position and becomes willing to move to the Premier League.

Alvarez turns down ArsenalSpeaking to TNT Sports on Saturday morning, Ornstein explained that Arsenal currently have only a small chance of signing Alvarez because the player’s preference remains a move to Barcelona. He said Atletico Madrid have effectively shut the door on a Barcelona transfer, while Arsenal would be willing to negotiate directly with the Spanish club.

However, the Gunners would also need Alvarez himself to be interested in joining them.Ornstein revealed that Alvarez has already spoken with Arteta and informed him that he does not want to make the move at this stage.

However, he stressed that the situation could still change before the transfer deadline.Transfer situations can develop quickly, meaning the door has not been completely closed on a potential Arsenal move.

Nevertheless, there is currently little indication that the deal is progressing in the manner previously suggested.Alvarez is believed to be Arsenal’s main attacking target. If they fail to convince him to join, the club could ultimately decide to continue with their existing options rather than pursue another major striker signing.

Osimhen also unlikely to join ArsenalWith the Alvarez deal appearing increasingly unlikely, attention had turned towards Victor Osimhen as a possible alternative for Arsenal. The Nigerian striker, who currently plays for Galatasaray, has been linked with several clubs during the transfer window. However, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has dismissed the idea that Arsenal are negotiating for the forward.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said Arsenal have not opened negotiations for Osimhen and insisted that the striker is not available for transfer.

According to Romano, Osimhen remains an important part of Galatasaray’s plans and was never seriously considered for sale. The Turkish club are reportedly very happy with the Nigerian forward and see him as a key member of their squad.

Romano also pointed out that Galatasaray now have several high-profile players, including Osimhen, Rafael Leao and Leroy Sane, making the Nigerian’s departure even less likely. The transfer expert therefore expects Osimhen to remain at Galatasaray rather than make a late move to Arsenal. He suggested that some of the Arsenal-Osimhen rumours may have originated from discussions between Arsenal and Galatasaray regarding Gabriel Martinelli.

However, Martinelli reportedly had no interest in moving to Turkey. As a result, Arsenal’s search for a new striker could take another direction if they are unable to persuade Alvarez to change his mind before the transfer window closes.
