In an Iranian strike, the UAE intercepts 195 drones and 132 ballistic missiles.

As tensions with Iran escalated, the United Arab Emirates announced that most ballistic missiles and drones fired into its territory were intercepted by its air defense systems. The country described the barrage as a serious danger to regional stability.

The UAE Ministry of Defense said in a statement on Tuesday that since the Iranian onslaught began, 137 ballistic missiles had been found and 132 had been successfully destroyed. There are reports that five missiles landed into the ocean.

The government also stated that 195 of the 209 drones found were intercepted. Officials reported that fourteen drones caused minimal material damage when they landed inside the nation’s borders and waterways.

The ministry said, “Debris from the intercepted missiles and drones fell in various locations, resulting in limited damage to some civilian facilities,” adding that emergency response personnel moved quickly to secure impacted sites and safeguard locals.

The government called the strike a serious escalation that puts human lives at danger and jeopardizes regional security, denouncing it as a breach of both international law and national sovereignty.

Officials emphasized that the UAE is still on high alert and that it has the right to take any necessary steps to protect its territory and national interests.

H.E. Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, reiterated that the government is prepared to face new challenges. Additionally, authorities advised the public to avoid disseminating unconfirmed information and to rely on official sources for updates.

The development coincides with rising tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States. After joint US-Israeli attacks on its land, Iran pledged to retaliate.

According to Saudi authorities, Iranian drones attacked the US Embassy compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in a related incident that resulted in minimal material damage and a small fire. The embassy building was reportedly vacant at the time of the attack, and no deaths were reported.
