In a video shared on the platform Advocacy for Good Governance, prominent Nigerian businessman Prince Isaac Fayose articulated a strong conviction regarding the upcoming 2027 presidential election in Rivers State. He confidently asserted that Peter Obi, representing the NDC party, would achieve a resounding and undeniable victory in the state. Fayose directly addressed Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister, challenging his earlier predictions and emphasizing the critical importance of allowing the election’s final tally to accurately reflect the genuine votes cast by the electorate, free from any form of manipulation or undue influence.
To underscore the depth of his certainty, Fayose proposed a public wager with the Minister. This significant bet, a “Rolls-Royce for Rolls-Royce, plus ₦1 billion,” would be deposited in court, serving as tangible proof of his unwavering belief.
Fayose reiterated that if the electoral process adhered to principles of transparency and integrity, with no interference in the counting or declaration of results, Peter Obi would secure a decisive win in Rivers State, achieving a remarkable 72% of the vote, and this victory would be confirmed before midday on election day. He specifically stipulated that this outcome was contingent upon the assurance that the results would not be withheld or manipulated, as he alluded to a past instance. Fayose’s passionate plea was for a fair and unadulterated electoral exercise, where the will of the people, as expressed through their votes, would ultimately prevail.
