His influential performance was recognized with the Man of the Match award.Galatasaray began the game with authority and quickly took control of possession and territory.
Roland Sallai gave the visitors the lead, but Osimhen soon emerged as the central figure in their attacking play. His intelligent runs behind the defense and ability to occupy several defenders at once repeatedly created openings for both himself and his teammates. The Super Eagles striker also demonstrated his willingness to put the team’s interests ahead of personal glory when Galatasaray extended their advantage in the 20th minute.
Although Osimhen had a clear opportunity to shoot, he remained composed and selected the better option, picking out Yunus Akgun with a well-timed pass. Akgun made no mistake, calmly finishing the chance to put Galatasaray 2–0 ahead.Osimhen then got on the scoresheet before halftime. Erzurumspor goalkeeper Matija Orbanic made an error that left the ball loose inside the penalty area, and Osimhen reacted immediately. He seized possession, maintained his composure under pressure, and confidently fired the ball into the net to give Galatasaray a three-goal cushion at the interval. The Nigerian forward remained a constant threat after the restart. His movement across the attacking line made it challenging for Erzurumspor’s defenders to track him, while his positioning frequently drew opponents away and opened valuable space for Galatasaray’s midfielders and wide players.
Even when he was not directly involved in a shot, Osimhen’s presence continued to influence the shape of the home defense. He completed his brace in the 79th minute after another well-executed attacking move. Gabriel Sara delivered the ball into the penalty area following Osimhen’s perfectly timed run, and the striker showed excellent composure before driving his finish into the bottom-left corner.
The goal capped an outstanding individual display and underlined his efficiency in front of goal.Osimhen finished the match with two goals, an assist, and a highly influential all-around performance. His contribution was central to Galatasaray’s emphatic victory and offered an early indication of the significant impact he could make for the Turkish giants during the season. If he maintains this combination of selflessness, movement, and clinical finishing, he is likely to remain one of the team’s most important attacking players.
