Cristiano Ronaldo was ‘in tears’ after a shocking turn of events in the Al Nassr game.

In an emotional rollercoaster that left fans and players alike on the edge of their seats, Cristiano Ronaldo found himself awash in a tide of mixed emotions following his team’s heartbreaking saga during the match against Al Hilal on Tuesday night. The legendary forward, who is no stranger to high-stakes moments, was torn between laughter and tears as Al Nassr came agonizingly close to clinching their first Saudi Pro League title since 2019.

Heading into the crucial confrontation against their fierce rivals, Al Hilal, there was a palpable sense of anticipation in the air. A win for Al Nassr would have given them a significant seven-point cushion at the top of the table, with only one match left to play. Hopes were high, and the atmosphere was electric as supporters packed the stadium, dreaming of a triumphant return to the summit of Saudi football.

The first half unfolded with tension and excitement, and it was Mohamed Simakan who ignited the crowd by scoring a stunning goal that sent Al Nassr into halftime with a 1-0 lead. Their dominance was evident, and it seemed as if Jorge Jesus’ side was on the brink of celebrating an early title victory. Fans cheered, and Ronaldo, a pillar of inspiration for his teammates, basked in the anticipation of lifting the trophy.

However, as the second half progressed, the tides of fortune began to wane. In a cruel twist of fate, Al Nassr’s victory slipped through their fingers with just ten seconds remaining on the clock. A disastrous own goal by their goalkeeper, Bento, shattered the dreams of the players and their supporters, leveling the score at 1-1. This catastrophic moment meant that rather than celebrating a championship, the team now faced a much more daunting path in the decisive match against Damac next week.

As the final whistle blew, the harsh reality set in. With the draw, Al Nassr maintained a five-point lead over Al Hilal, who still had a game in hand, leaving the race for the title hanging in the balance. Ronaldo, usually the poster boy of composure and resilience, was visibly shaken on the sidelines. Cameras captured poignant moments of the five-time Ballon d’Or winner with tears streaming down his face, grappling with a mixture of despair and determination.

In the aftermath of the match, Ronaldo took to social media to connect with his ardent supporters. In a heartfelt post on Instagram, he wrote: “The dream is close. Heads up, we have one more step to take! Thank you all for the amazing support tonight.” His words resonated with fans, showcasing his unwavering spirit and commitment to pushing forward despite the setback. The road to redemption is still alive, and Ronaldo’s rallying cry reminds everyone that there is still hope and a final chance to seize the coveted title.
