Wizkid Reacts to BurnaBoy: “I never saw fool like this diddy girl for my life”

Tensions between Wizkid and Burna Boy, two of Afrobeats’ most prominent players, have increased as a result of a widely reported incident during a prominent nightlife event in Lagos. The dispute revolves around an alleged altercation between DJ Tunez, a well-known disc jockey who is closely associated with Wizkid’s Starboy brand, and Burna Boy.

According to reports, the incident happened at Obi’s House, a popular monthly entertainment event in Lagos that draws celebrities and business elites. Over the past 48 hours, videos that have gone viral on social media seem to depict a heated argument between DJ Tunez and Burna Boy. The entire context and order of events are still unknown because no official account has confirmed exactly what happened, even if several videos imply that the situation may have escalated into a violent brawl.

Wizkid responded to the growing amount of internet speculation by posting a statement on X (previously Twitter). This remark soon gained attention and spurred additional discussion among fans and industry observers. Discussions concerning the two artists’ relationship were further fueled by his remarks, which were widely seen as a response to the altercation even though they did not fully describe the occurrence.

Burna Boy has not made an official statement on the situation as of the time this news was filed. Nonetheless, members of his social circle have publicly defended him, brushing off criticism and reiterating their support for the Grammy-winning musician.

The Nigerian entertainment industry has also responded more broadly to the crisis. The Nigerian DJ Association declared that Burna Boy’s music would be temporarily banned from all of its members’ playlists nationwide in reaction to the alleged event. The group stressed the value of professionalism and respect for one another in live event settings and said that the decision was made in solidarity with DJs.

According to Punch Newspaper on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, this development demonstrates how easily conflicts in the entertainment sector can spread to other professional settings.
