Iran, February 22, 2026 – Iranians are living in a tense mix of fear and hope as talk of possible United States military action against their country grows, a new report reveals.
According to NewsVista Reporter, a Tehran resident known only as Ali toldKAN Reshet Betthat many in Iran say they are “waiting every minute and second” for a US strike. But surprisingly, he said most would prefer an Israeli attack instead. Watch Video Now
Ali explained that many believe the Israeli Air Force strikes last June were precise and focused on military targets linked to Iran’s leadership without harming ordinary citizens or major infrastructure. In contrast, he said a potential US strike would bring “terrible destruction, like in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
In the interview, Ali also blasted Iran’s government for its ruthless crackdown on dissent, claiming the regime has “brutally murdered and dismembered” over 40,000 people and injured hundreds of thousands during recent protests. He said university students are being targeted to stop demonstrations before they grow.
When asked if he feared speaking out, Ali quoted an old Persian saying about death being a release from suffering.
This striking account highlights deep frustration among some Iranians caught between a repressive regime and looming foreign threats.
